Christmas card for my son. Made on the Silhouette Cameo, files used were downloaded from UK Scrappers, and the Silhouette website.

Three Parchment craft Angels for my Three Granddaughters. Each one is slightly different.

For my Daughter, this card ended up so large I had to make a special envelope!

For the guitarist in your life. Guitar file from the Silhouette site, with Holly added. I realised after I took the picture a small vein in the holly had not popped out, it was easy to remove and all well now!
A few more Christmas cards, not quite identical! Merry & Bright.

Saturday 4 October 2014

A rainy morning here in England today, so I made another couple of Christmas cards. With the above card I edited the snowflake mat design so that the Cameo cutter just cut the outer edge of the design. I think this worked well and shows the snowflakes off well. I think I will use this for a few more cards. The coloured snowflake mat is a bit of a fiddle, because the snowflakes have to be popped out of the card. It's quite a thick textured card, so I might get a cleaner cut with another type of card. However it's quite relaxing to sit and do, so not a big problem for me.

New Home Card

I made this one as a New Home card for my niece and her partner. It's a pattern from the Silhouette site. I had a little trouble getting it to cut the words cleanly, but it might have been the card I was using.

Playing with Lynda's Embossing machines today, both the Craftwell eBosser and the Sizzix Big shot. Very little to chose between them with this folder, the Big Shot was slightly deeper embossing. The eBosser will take larger folders though, so if your buying one this may be a consideration for you. After embossing a plain white card I coloured it with Promarker pens. Promarkers do not leave any lines, and colour evenly. A little glitter glue added and a ribbon and it's a card for all occasions.

Time to make Christmas cards!

The last few years I have struggled to find cards that I really like. All very much, same old, same old, unless you pay £3.00 each! So I decided to make my own this year. I only send about 60, as I have cut down over the years. I'm doing quite a few 'quick' ones, but a few more time hungry ones for the family. I'm totally enjoying doing it, as it has been a while since I made my own. I rather like this chap, he is from the Joanna Sheen - Margaret Tarrant Cardmaking Collection Pad 2 I love all the pictures in this pad. Reminds me of my childhood in the late 1950's, early 60's. The snowflake border is from one of the members of UK Scrappers, and everything was cut on the Cameo, the pixie was cut using the new Pix Scan mat and software.
The reindeer cards have tiny bells tied on with ribbon, and the coloured papers are BoBunny, free with a craft magazine. Again the Reindeer are cut on the silhouette Cameo. Everything else from my Stash and Store.

Frozen cake for Ellie

I was assistant in the kitchen, while my daughter made this lovely Doll cake. It's Elsa from the Disney film Frozen.
The front of the dress was smooth with no embelisments - and then her hubby decided he would flatten a bit out with his finger....two hours after it had set. Then he stuck a snowflake over the mess!! I still think it looks FAB, but my daughter was a tad upset, as you can imagine...Ooops!

Ice Bucket Challenge

Sympathy card for a friend

I made this with the use of the Silhouette Cameo machine. The words are from a file purchased from the Silhouette website, and the little green border is from UK Scrappers Craft Robo Forum. UK Scrappers is a very friendly and useful site if you don't know it. Links and information on all aspects of card craft and papercraft there.

More from Botanicals

I made this as a Birthday card for a friend. Again they are bits and bods from the DoCrafts Botanicals collection. The card it's mounted on is just from my stash, I liked the colour contrast.

3D Decopage

My Mother entered a competition to win a set of DoCrafts Botanicals, and won over £50 worth. As she is not a crafter she gave them all to me! Some lovely items, ribbons, decoupage papers, cards and embellishments. Here are a couple of cards I made this morning. I did not realise that you should 'shape' the papers by bending them a little. It certainly gives it a better look. I also had a go using silicone glue, big blobs so it makes the card stand out. I normaly use 3D sticky foam pads. Both work well.

Yet another Frozen Princess card

This one is for the 7 year old. She's only interested in 2 things One Direction, and Frozen. As I'm a bit at a loss with boy groups (can't call them a band - no instruments to speak of) I'm using Disney's Frozen again. It's just an excuse to play with snowflakes and rhinestones really :-)

Anniversary Card

A simple card for my hubby on our wedding anniversary. Next year is 40th, so pushing the boat out then!

Stick the nose on the Snowman

For my 3 year old Granddaughters Birthday Party. It's not Pin the Tail on the Donkey these days, it's stick the nose on the snowman. This is Olaf the snowman from the Disney film Frozen. His original nose did not look very much like a carrot from this angle, so I made some different ones. The snowflakes are cut out on my new Silhouette Cameo Cutting machine. The carrots have Sticky dots on the back, and everyone will write their name on the carrots - then we will see who is the closest!

Made as a get well card.

A Parchment craft card. Made from a design in Parchment Craft Magazine August 2014. This one took ages, all those little perforations!
I think it would look nice in white too, it would just need a little more shading on the roses and leaves.

The Barbie cake (hopefully!)

Managed to make the 'Barbie Doll' type cake today. Our last attempt was a charred mess! it can go in the freezer now, before it gets iced and turned into Elsa (Yes, from Disney's Frozen)....so many things Frozen here I hope my screen does not freeze.........brrrrr!
Hundreds of these Barbie cakes on the internet, all look amazing. I'm not doing the pretty stuff on this one, my daughter is. So when it's done I'll share a picture, if she deems it worthy! The Elsa doll is quite tall, so we needed an extra bit of height. The Victoria sponge layer will just go on the bottom. We did wonder about taking her legs off....but she's a genuine doll and we did not want to spoil her. It took 10 eggs, 12oz Flour, Sugar & butter for this amount of cake!!

Frozen Card for my Granddaughters Birthday

I got so many snowflakes stuck on me....I was singing "Let it go....let it go....!"
I have borrowed a Cricut expression, and it was great for cutting out snowflakes and the Happy Birthday. I used a Dark blue envelope and stuck the spare snowflakes on it. Would make a nice Christmas envelope, I'll have to remember that!

Friday 15 August 2014

Busy today making bracelets for my Granddaughters Birthday party bags. The Theme is Disneys "Frozen".
They came out Pretty well I think!

Parching!

No, I'm not talking about the hot weather making me thirsty! I'm talking about Parchment craft, sometimes called Pergamano. I used to do this many years ago, and never got past the basics. The last few months I have been teaching myself, with the help of some very good books and YouTube :-)
This is one of my recent efforts from Martha Ospinas book Parchment craft basics.
